  • Kristi, I have read The Lupus Book, by Daniel. Wallace Quite a long while ago. If I remember correctly, it was a good reference book but not alot of info on any specific issue. I liked the NIH booklets because I could get a handful at no cost, and give them to my family members. Jillian, I would love book references as well if you wouldn't mind.

  • I am going to order some books and read them. If I can find a spare moment with 16 credit hours in school and 35 hours of work a week. :)

  • Welcome to all our new friends here. I will share my story when I am feeling a little stronger. Just know that we are here for you and you are not alone!

  • Please remember that meds are not your enemy. Meds will help keep your body in check. For instance, prednisone will help keep your body from attacking itself and will get the inflammation down. You don't take meds just to feel good, you take them to control the disease. :)

  • However, also realize that it's not impossible to stay away from meds if you're willing to do the work it takes...I have chosen to be med free other than supplements and 100 mg. Tramadol a day. I've chosen to eliminate all allergens from my diet and avoid processed foods...I am doing this with my Dr's blessing as is my daughter and she has one of the leading lupus researchers in the country as her rheumatologist...so if you don't feel they are working or you are concerned about the side effects, research & ask your dr about it...

  • Xxxxxxx Yzzzzzz - I'm teaching book arts on Mon/Wed from 11:30 - 2:00 so send me a msg. and we'll see when we can hook up ;-)

  • Some books I found helpful were The First Year Lupus - An Essential Guide for the Newly Diagnosed and Coping with Lupus. Also the Lupus Book is good if you're looking for more technical stuff.

  • there are a lot of great books. I can't remember the title of the one I lent my friend but it's written by 2 Drs
