Hello All. I was just wondering if any of you guys have experienced this

  • All over my legs

  • I get these just from bumping my legs into something. It started last November.

  • I could never get blood tests in my rsd arm.It can't even be touched. I take 1500mg vit. C per day. My neurologist has me on it. Also b,d,e and omega3 & fish oil. I also take biotin for hair loss.

  • I have RSD in both arms, hands, feet, legs, etc, so I have no choice. I cannot take Vit C due to having interstitial cystitis. Allergic to fish, so no fish oil. Allergic to pork so no Vit E (capsules). I do take Vit D daily and get monthly B12 injections.

  • That sucks. I take pills for my liver. My enzymes are high & they help and I am on a special diet. I have no gall bladder. Its always something with us. I have a port. I am so happy I got it but of course when they put it in the Dr. Nicked my lung and I had to get a tube put in wide awake right through my breast! OMG that hurt.

  • Xxxxxxx Yzzzzzz - I am experiencing loss of hair. Does the biotin help?

  • Wow, Diane!! I bet that did hurt! I had my gall bladder out years ago. Seven weeks ago I had a section of my kidney removed due to a malignant mass, thank God they got it all with surgery. I have so much stuff wrong with me now it is ridiculous. I guess that is what happens after more than 25 years with this RSD crap!

  • Yes Sandy, I never had much hair under my arms or legs and my hair is thick. Well I need a lawnmower for my eyebrows, underarms and legs. My head is growing in so fast my roots are grey,I am 60. It need colored more but I let it go. It helps very much. I've been on it a year. It still comes out not as bad. But grows in fast. It took a couple months. But I am happy about that. Because everything else goes wrong.

  • I just added biotin to our shopping list. Thanks.

  • Xxxxxxx Yzzzzzz - The permanent brown areas are most likely from blood that leaked subcutaneously after venipuncture. The blood breaks down into its components - including hemoglobin (HGB) which then degrades and releases heme, the iron-bearing component in HGB. The heme then bonds permanently with the subcutaneous tissue in the area of the leak. It accumulates over time and produces the characteristic brown pigmentation. It is harmless but your concern should be to minimize leaky or blown venipunctures. As you know, scarred veins make blood draws more difficult.

  • Thank you for your info, James.

  • Sandy, Mine started in my right thumb and index finger after a botched cervical surgery and then it spread to my hand wrist and my whole arm into my shoulder and my neck then my left hand and wrist and then my feet. The 1st ketamine infusion helped it take all of it away but the day I came home from the hospital I slipped on a patch of ice and grab the truck with my bed right hand and caught myself from falling and I twisted my hand and all my weight went on that hand instead of falling and messed up the infusion. Then I had to wait 6 months to get another because of my enzymes so my second infusion it did not take it away from my right hand and arm and then I had booster couple weeks ago that it did not help I have another boosters coming up next week hopefully that will help. My doctor is doing a new procedure which I am talking to him about next week called cervical facet denervation. I am going to have it done. I'll try anything at this point. I've had it for 6 years and all I can do is sit on the couch early or reclining I should say and watch TV my husband baths me wash my hair cleans the house does the laundry takes care of the outside looks and works he's a truck driver and he supports me every way he can I don't know what I'd do without him he is my rock he is everything.

  • Xxxxxxx Yzzzzzz - How much biotin do you take each day? I have thick hair, but the loss of hair is increasing.

  • Thank you James for that explanation, that makes sense! I am such a hard stick. My IV's blow easily for some reason. When I had my partial nephrectomy (kidney cancer) in July, they put in two IV's, one in each arm, which is apparently necessary for DiVinci robotic surgery. Both IV's blew that night and it took four nurses six tries to get another IV in and that one blew the next morning.

  • Nancy - I suspect that the successful partial nephrectomy outweighs some brown spots. I hope you are covering well.

  • Yeah James, I will take some brown spots over the cancer any day!! The brown spots had started quite a while back and are just accumulating and puzzled me, until now :) I am running into an issue with increased pain in my kidney area and that side, got a call into the dr now. I have some nodules in my right lung and had another CT today, not sure what's going on there yet.

  • Powdered collagen can help. I mix it in my orange juice. I look sort of like cousin it now. It helps some. There is a hair vitamin mix with biotin they sell in the store, but I recommend a reputable vitamin company and not budget...vitamins are not FDA regulated so what they say they have and what they really are can be totally different products. More money means nothing and good vitamins do not always mean a lot of money.

  • You may also want to check your clotting factors to see if you are clotting correctly...just in case. I was getting the same thing and discovered I was quite anemic, or not having enough Iron in my blood, meaning I needed to boost my diet and health or help from bleeding so much after getting blood draws.

  • And I hope all of your tests come out well....

  • Abigayle Elizabeth Binder - how do I check my clotting factors? Do I just ask my PCP to check my clotting factors when she runs my other blood work? And, thank you!!

  • Xxxxxxx Yzzzzzz maybe just in all of your blood work with everything else...show the bruising to your PCP and see what he/ she says. Good health to you

  • Abigayle Elizabeth Binder - I will make a note and ask her when I see her on the 19th. She is doing some blood work then. Thanks again!!

  • Xxxxxxx Yzzzzzz good health to you and feel better soon

  • Yup..... My arm

  • Nancy I've only had it 6 years & been through hell. I don't thing I'll make 25 years. ImI'm 60 and been through surgerissurgeries,etc.

  • I'll have to check the bottle tomorrow my husband fixes all my pills for me in those containers because I get too confused cuz there's so many so I will let you know tomorrow what milligrams I take I know it's just 1 a day but I don't know what the milligrams are

  • I have bruises that become permanent marks... I guessed it was part of the fun of RSD... I look like I've been through a pinball machine.

  • Oh the fun!

  • I look like I've been beaten all the time. I get them from all of my falls. All over my body

  • Xxxxxxx Yzzzzzz 5000mcg
