Trevor, Kevin and Sue: Hello and welcome to our awesome group!
Hello everyone xx
Just a quick update ... First physio appointment tomorrow morning post Fasciectomy x
Got my propolis and aloe Vera gel to help with healing of my war wound . Shall keep a picture diary of it from tomorrow and share results with the group if it is ok with everyone x
Post away Jacqui, we've seen many post war photos.
Hey Guys thanks for the welcome looking forward to hearing the stories for self help it is a nasty disease and a bit foreboding with no known cure
This is five days post op. Bandage was not to come off until my first appointment but had a bleed
Doesn't look too bad!
Pulled a stitch x
Looks nasty is that the result of radiation treatment?
No Trevor I had a Fasciectomy
Thanks just read up on it all the best in your recovery
Thank you . I can honestly say have had no pain . Could have had the procedure with a regional block but opted for general anaesthetic to which they put in. Partial block . It is just frustrating as it is my right hand which is my dominant hand
Have you not heard of the Fasciectomy?
Xxxxxxx Yzzzzzz I have not seen one hand looks like that as a result of radiation for DD
Not before now but it does look a bit drastic but I guess the pain you had needed to be addressed
Xxxxxxx Yzzzzzz that hand has not had radiation treatment. I'm not sure I understand
Me either just new to this stuff only just found out what I have is DD
It was not the pain as such it was the contracture and bending from the pip joint . It was painful if I did things in certain ways
Xxxxxxx Yzzzzzz welcome to the group Trevor. Why don't you start a new thread and tell us about your diagnosis your age your family history and where you live and maybe we can help you get started with some research and providers
I have a nodule below my middle finger which is slightly bent with pain in the knuckle joint not sure if the pain is part of DD or just arthritis. Cannot make a fist with that finger too painful
Xxxxxxx Yzzzzzz if you start a new thread that's just for your comments we can help you sort it all out
Not sure how to do that
My GP thought I had trigger finger . I have had a short journey with mine really diagnosed early December and surgery o. 22nd of April
I will wish you all a goodnight from here in South Wales as early appointment in the morning at the hospital x
Sounds a bit rushed my nodule and finger seems to have gotten a bit better with massage I am hoping I will not have to get surgery any time soon
I will give you an update after my physio therapy tomorrow and have an appointment with my wonderful surgeon on Friday
Good morning everyone. Update on surgery... First day of physiotherapy. Finger is straight still have dissolvable stitches in situ... Smaller dressing on splint made for wearing at night for 3-6 months. Small exercise this morning stretching of the hand and finger. Tried to make a fist open and shut fingers together . This was the easy bit today . Physio a bit tougher next appointment. Booklet given on Dupuytrens. Forgot to take photo so will do when with Mr Andrew Rodgers on Friday. Bruising subsiding . But physio really pleased and may not have to have as many sessions as first thought .
Hi Jacqui - congrats on the progress! This post is in the Welcome message. Would you mind posting your updates on your ongoing story thread or post in a stand alone thread? Updates posted on the welcome message will get lost and fewer people will see it and be able to comment and ask questions.
Hi Leslie can you tell me how to do that . Then I will copy and paste or even as you welcome the start of my journey up to now x
Jacqui Williams are you participating on the forum with your mobile device or are you on a PC
Jacqui Williams go to the homepage of the forum at the very top of the page under the banner it says write something in a comment box. That is what's called a new thread. Then you can bookmark that thread by clicking the little downward arrow in the top right corner and click on save post. Every time you want to update your journey you can go to the red ribbon icon where your post has been saved. Please go to the welcome message and read through the guidelines for participation and that should help you better navigate the forum.
