Does Lyme make your hands hurt

  • Yes. My hands are in a ton of pain right now!

  • Is it to where it hurts to do anything and swollen? Is it constant?

  • Swollen sometimes, other times they are tingly and numb. I've had periods of time where my hands hurt so much that I couldn't even hold a book. This would last for a few weeks. The pain comes and goes. It's not constant as in everyday all the time, but it is constant in the periods where I have it (up to a few weeks).

  • If you have Lyme you should not have steroids!

  • I didn't know that.. but I informed the dr when I first went that I had Lyme and he still gave it to me. I can't seem to find a dr that knows anything about Lyme.. have any suggestions?

  • mine has been swollen right by my first finger with pain where it's swollen and some times pain down my finger. It doesn't like for me to do things like hold a hair dryer or brush, squeeze out a rag, or do anything really.

  • My favorite pastime was knitting and I can't even do that right now. Haven't been able to do that for months now.

  • Babesia can affect the hand, mostly below the thumb into the hand. I had pain on the tops of my hands, couldn't grip anything it was so painful.

  • Steroids suppress the immune system, so that's the last thing you need.

  • I developed Bell's palsy after having using steroids. I have numbness and tingling all over but left hand is swollen and bad. Curcumin and other supplements and diet have helped.

  • Oh, I'm so sorry! That's got to be really hard.

  • That's actually how I decided to get tested for Lyme . My hands would hurt so so bad then during sleep turn into tight fists and my fingernails would cut into the skin. My husband would pry them open in the morning.
