I cant speak for the rest of the EDS population but I have a few wierd and rare allergies. I am allergic to Tylenol, Red Dye #40, and suspected gluten intolerance. I also have a rare allergy known as Solar Urticaria. Its a sun allergy. I cant be exposed to direct sunlight for more than an hour without getting a severe rash, vomiting, weakness, and migraines. I always wear protective clothing. Long sleeves. Pants, gloves, and a hat. I dont cover my face but I dont go outside much during the day.
I am also extremely cold intolerant. If my hands get too cold they swell up. The skin on my feet starts to sloff of in small layers and makes them raw. Generally I like to stay in a heated are at about 80 degrees. This also helps lower the pain from the EDS as well.
Well it's good to know I'm not alone when it comes to this.
I've heard about the sun allergy before and read up on it a little bit. Sounds pretty painful :(
I forgot to mention I also have bad skin reactions to lots of things. Chlorine is a BIG one. I cant go in swimming pools or hot tubs. My skin gets red, itchy, I get hives sometimes and eczema. My skin also reacts badly to cold, similar to yours, though not as severe.
